Bob’s No Wake Zone Boating Radio Show features author of children’s boating book The Amazing Adventures of Boat Girl
The new children’s book for boat kids – The Amazing Adventures of Boat Girl – is getting a lot of buzz in the boating industry… and I was thrilled to be invited for a radio interview about the book this month on Bob’s No Wake Zone Boating Radio Show!
“Bob’s No Wake Zone Boating Radio Show” is a popular boating radio show produced by Bob May – a lifelong boater and radio host based in Missouri. The show airs weekly on KRMS radio and 93.5 Rocks at Osage Beach, Lake of the Ozarks -live shows air on Sundays from 6:00 – 7:00 pm Central Time, but thanks to live streaming anyone with an interest in boating and an internet connection can enjoy listening to the show anywhere in the world. The show also features an On Demand Dock Box with full archived shows to listen to on demand.
Bob’s No Wake Zone features a wide range of boating topics – from new boat gear to boat services or boater issues. He also focuses a lot on boating safety… making my children’s book centered on boat safety a perfect match for the show!
Radio Interview Highlights
The radio interview starts off with me giving Bob some background on my own personal boating life on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. I tell him about how my husband and I have been boating for 15 years and now enjoy family time on board our boat, Seltzer Water, with our two beautiful daughters.
I then went own to explain how my two daughters were the inspiration for my book, The Amazing Adventures of Boat Girl, and how it is an ideal book for any kid – boy or girl – who enjoys the water. The book is all about a little girl who puts on a “magical jacket” and has the confidence to go on little boating adventures. Its a great way to capture all the special moments that kids have on the water in a fun and educational way. Safety is the theme throughout the book, which also includes “Boat Girl’s Safety Rules”, fun nautical terms for kids and a log to personalize the book with a kid’s own boating adventures.
The book features beautiful watercolor drawings that are inspired by special moments my daughters have spent on the water – and all illustrations were done by my multi-talented nephew.
