youth boating programs

Youth boating organizations are a great way to get kids involved on the water. They can learn more about a certain aspect of boating, meet new friends, learn new skills and develop a lifelong love of boating.

By having your kids join a youth boating organization you can help teach them safe boating practices while showing kids the fun of recreational boating.

Youth boating programs can include boating and water activities like:

  • Fishing
  • Kayaking & Canoeing
  • Power boating
  • Rowing
  • Sailing
  • Scuba Diving
  • Stand-up Paddleboarding
  • Wakeboarding & Waterski
  • General youth water activities
  • Safe boating classes

Many of these programs offer training and/or lessons to help you get started. You’ll learn the basics, rules of the water, techniques and hone your skills. Many groups will also host youth competitions and exhibitions to help kids develop their skills further.

Discover Boating – the recreational boating industry’s campaign to grow boating participation, has created a database of youth boating programs to help make it easier to find a local program in your area.

You can search by geographic area, age group, type of activity and more.
